Kumeu Brass is the original brass band founded in 1948, it has undergone many changes over the past 70 years, check out our proud history. We have won the D Grade on three occasions and have moved to the C Grade twice but unfortunately we have not been able to retain enough membership to sustain the band contesting at this level.
Our favorite audience is our local community and our proudest moments are when we play at the Kumeu Show, Kumeu/Huapai Christmas parade and the Helensville Anzac Parades every year.
Kumeu Brass performs under the baton of Linda Filimoehala. Linda joined us in 2020 and brings a young and vibrant style to the band. We are excited to be learning from Linda’s expertise to not only enhance our playing but also having fun with our music choices.
Our thanks go to Mark Close our previous musical director for his dedication to Kumeu Brass.
With his skill we were able to win the D Grade twice in two consecutive years, a feat not easily done in any grade.
